DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce that the next General Assembly of th
 e GPZ in combination with the German Plant Breeding Conference will take
  place at Geisenheim University from 19-21 March 2024. Under the title „
 Accelerating Crop Genetic Gain“\, there will be a high-quality scientifi
 c program highlighting the latest developments and innovations in plant 
 breeding that can help to deliver accelerated rates of genetic gain to s
 ustain and improve future agriculture. There will be high-quality resear
 ch contributions and networking events that bring together academic bree
 ding research and commercial plant breeding. We are very excited to anno
 unce that we could already confirm keynote talks by Mark Cooper (Univers
 ity of Queensland\, AU)\; Agnieszka Golicz (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gi
 essen\; DE)\, Hans Daetwyler (Bayer CropScience\, NL)\; Daniela Bustos-K
 orts (Universidad Austral de Chile\, CL)\; Dorcus Gemenet (CGIAR-NARS\, 
 MX). Further keynote speakers will be announced soon. In addition\, for 
 the first time\, a 1.5-day \"Next Generation Breeders\" workshop for doc
 toral candidates and postdocs will be held from 17-18 March\, i.e. direc
 tly before the GPZ main conference. This is intended to offer the “breed
 ers of tomorrow” a platform for scientific exchange and networking with 
 invited experts. In this context\, the \"young GPZ\" will also be formed
  with elected representatives who will be admitted to the GPZ board in t
 he future. Please mark the 19-21 March 2024 for the German Plant Breedin
 g Conference 2024\, and the 17-18 March 2024 for the Next Generation Bre
